WOW! What a quality unit!
My previous pressure washer (also bought from VM) Was a Simpson 3000psi unit with the Honda engine. If someone tells you Honda engines are superior to Briggs, don't believe it. That was the most INFURIATING machine, the carburetor specifically. It had a manual choke, and after starting, the engine would run at half speed until you release the choke - easy, right? NO, when you release the choke it would die almost immediately, unless you quickly put it back on. You had to play this game until the engine warmed up, like 5 minutes! When stopping the engine after washing it would backfire EVERY TIME, and wreak of gasoline fumes. I took it in for a repair estimate once at the orange hardware store, and the tool rental guy rolled his eyes when he saw it was a Honda, and told me they all act like that. The verdict was a seized pump, which would be too expensive for me to repair. I was actually relieved to get rid of it and buy something else. This Briggs unit is a night-and-day difference! I already had experience with an almost identical Briggs 8.75 engine; I had replaced a 6.75 lawnmower engine with it, and it was rock solid reliable. It would always start on the first pull, and mow through the highest grass without bogging down. I just used my Briggs washer for the first time today, and it did not disappoint. Engine started on first pull and ran smoothly with no sputtering. I can't sense any difference between 2800 psi and 3000 psi. Specific features I like: front water inlet and outlet is much more convenient than on the rear. Compact design takes up less garage space. Visually attractive design. Large capacity fuel tank with quarter-turn cap (I washed 3 sides of my house before the full tank of fuel ran out!). No oil changes ever needed. Nice rear hanging hose storage. Not only is it excellent in every way, but it's also inexpensive! I highly recommend it.
