Whether you're a weekend carpenter or a part-time forester, the Husqvarna Steel Carpenter's Axe delivers the performance you expect in an expertly designed and crafted axe.

Modeled after the tried and true Hudson Bay axe, Husqvarna's Carpenter's Axe is the perfect intersection of form and function with its steel head hand-forged in Sweden and its durable hickory shaft. For a secure fit, the head is fixed to the handle with a steel wedge and is designed so the user's hand is closer to the head for more stability and control over the cutting edge. Ideal for whittling and carving for carpentry, this axe is lightweight and compact at only 2.75 pounds and 19 inches long.

The Husqvarna Steel Carpenter's Axe has a head weight of 2.2 pounds and comes with a leather sheath.

Surprisingly prompt delivery, good product

VM innovations is the star of this review as I have not used the axe yet. Delivery was faster than i expected and the product was what i expected. I was happy with their response time. The axe itself out of the box could use a bit of polishing and sharpening if you are looking for a razor sharp edge, other than that, it is obviously a high quality axe that is well worth the price. A little heavy but that can be a good thing.

So far so good.

I don't have a lot of experience with axes but so far I really like it.  I bought this due to a tight budget and needing one axe that could serve multiple purposes.  I plan on reshaping the handle a little bit to fit my needs but other than that it's been great.  It's pretty sharp on arival but I plan on working on that a little as well.  It is heavy to use for light work and can get tiresome pretty quick but I could use the workout so I'm fine with that.  It's a nice axe that I can use for light chopping at home or take is camping.  Not sure I would use it as a backpack axe due to the weight but I'll probaly try it out once in that environement just to see.
