NOT THE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR GAS POWERED BLOWER
Replaced my failing German 2-cycle gas blower of 15+ yrs because Makita's battery powered tools just keep getting better. I now own 10+ Makita tools and two chargers; so getting this blower was a given. It does drain the batteries in under 25 minutes at the highest setting (6 or "hurricane")....so I have 2 spare batteries charging while I blow leaves. At the 2,3 or 4 settings the batteries last far longer, so I quickly learned to move saw dust and loose dirt at these lower settings.
Would I recommend this to a friend or family member? Yes
Pros
  • Easy to Use
  • Simple to Set Up
  • Variable settings to match the task
Cons
  • Highest setting drains the batteries in 20 minutes

Serious upgrade from my old gas blower
My gas blower died and I wanted to get something more convenient. I already had 5amp Makita batteries so buying just the blower was really convenient. It arrived and I had it together in less than 3 minutes. The blower is light weight and felt good carrying it around. This had plenty of power and my yard was done by the time the batteries ran out, the bigger batteries I had may have been key here. Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend.

Blows hard
Blows harder than my corded blower and is way more convenient. It does burn through batteries so 4ah or 5ah batteries are best.

Makita cordless blower
Has plenty of power to move leaves. Lightweight enough to use for clearing gutters on roof. Quieter than gas powered blowers. Variable speed allows more battery life when full power is not needed. I was spending more time starting my gas leaf blower than I was using it. This one just needs charged batteries and away you go. A carrying strap would be useful. Maybe a nozzle choice besides round?
Would I recommend this to a friend or family member? Yes
Pros
  • Easy to Use
  • Quality Construction
  • Plenty of Power
Cons
  • carrying strap would be nice
