a bit heavy

While searching for a replacement bike for my 9-year old son (his previous one had 20' wheels) I looked up 'recommended mountain bikes for kids 24'' and this one popped up in a couple of reviews. The fact that my son's name is Maxim and his favorite color is green sealed the deal. He does like it. However initially he was complaining that it's a heavy bike. I second him on that - it's heavy. And a kick stand is difficult to 'operate'. However the gears work just fine - and he does use them. It's not a super bike by any means and the price shows that.

Would I recommend this to a friend or family member? Yes
