I bought these headphones to use in my home recording studio. As a professional video editor, I need to hear every nuance to every sound I record and mix-- these headphones suit my needs perfectly and have saved me hundreds over buying new Sony, Sure, or other Sennheiser headphones. I don't think they'd be very good for DJ's, but for the home studio, they're incredible.
THis is factory refurbished by senheiser ,not some thrid party outlet .First rate quality .Everything feels quite solid.I wouldnt worry about this thing breaking .A 1/4 to 1/8 conversion plug is included too.
Sound is what you would expect from closed cans. Not feeling any muddiness and my iDevice and phone seem to drive it loud enough .Its biased towards bass but not in a beats kinda way . I like it and would buy again.
Picky son wanted high end head phones and he loves these.. so if 19 year old likes them and are cool enough..I guess they are..
The wires somehow pulled out of headset, (only had used once) The customer Service and pleasant service and prompt response was unbelievable.
Very impressed with the entire item but more so the WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. KUDOS!!!! Second set received and doing beautifully. Thank You.
FIrst let me say that I bought these for 27.00 refurbished. This review is based upon that price.
I don't know what the noise cancelling is about as they are listed. They are not listed as such by the MFG. and certainly not active noise cancelling.
They are good quality however and do a good job of sound reproduction. They are very flat in that they have no tone adjustments or bass boost or such things so one volume and what you hear is the true sound of what you are listening to. This is not necessarily bad though, just a fact.
The ear muffs fit well and are comfortable to wear. They do block out most outside noise due to a good seal to the ear.
They are not heavy duty construction but adequate. They have a cord with both 1/4 inch phone adapter over 3.5mm jack both gold plated which is good and adds to versatility. The cord is not very long however so unless close to the device being listened to one will need an extension.
All in all for the price they were worth the 27 bucks due to being a good brand, sealing well, and having accurate sound reproduction. Just do not expect any noise cancelling functions. Really any noise cancelling headphones that really work other than for use on aircraft where there is only one frequency needing to be cancelled such as jet engine noise one will have to spend at least 200.00 minimum to have headphones with active noise cancelling that will be worth purchasing for that feature.
If am happy with them for the price I paid. They are on the low end of this brand so that is what you can expect.
No real features but adequate construction and good ear comfort and good sound reproduction make them a good choice for inexpensive headphones, at least at the price I paid. I do not like in ear type phones so these work without ear discomfort for me. If you want more features or better construction or even more attention paid to construction of the ear muffs then you may want to shell out the extra money and step up to a higher end model. If you want something that will sound good and be comfortable for a low price and lack of featurs does not bother you then these will work well.
I listen to everything from opera to pop to rock to trance and streaming from Spotify, a music service, these pair of headphones are a life-changing experience. I had the Senhiesser 202's which are great but this is a major step up. Way to go VMInnovations!
*disclaimer: i am not an audiophile
These headphones are really good. Previously I had the hd 202 and I thought those were the best headphones ever. Then I got this pair and the ear muffs are bigger my ears actually fit completely. It doesn't block out as much sound as the 202 but the sound quality is better. I like it a lot, as for mids/highs/lows/bass I really don't know what to say about that because I am not an audiophile lol
I really like the sound of these headphones.
The product works great, I got it for cheap. It works.
Doesnt really seal your ears from outside noise. Perhaps, Noise isolating earphones can do a better job.
I use it for listening to music when I am on my computer.
I like it because the sound quality is decent, And so far it is not falling apart.
The quality of the built is not great though.
For a $36 headphone, heck it is good enough :)
As a musician and dj and avid music listener, I go through LOTS of headphones, let me tell you these are awesome , reliable and affordable! Iwould recomend them to the casual listener to the most avid musician.... well worth it!!!
I got these for 23 bucks, and they are the best headphones in this price range. Perfect sound for techno.
Negatives - lacks bass, and a little low on sound.
Great sound quality, as was expected. Certainly one of the best deals out there for quality/price.
Good bang for the buck, Sennheisser quality for sure.
these headphones are great for video gaming, and everyday listening!!! would recommend to anyone!
The Headphones are great and I would buy them again. Howard Janapol
Awesome head phones at a reasonable price. These sound excellent on all types of music, For this price I would buy these without thinking twice. Do not hesitate.
Good Headset for the money, decent bass and good sound.
Well I borrowed a pair from my friend and I listened critically for a while, but I couldn't find any songs that sounded good on them. The sound quality is sub par of many headphones that are much cheaper than those. Although I'm i huge fan of Sennheiser, these headphones don't make the cut. The warm guitars on Santana's solos are harsh and sharp, the bass is lacking the thump and tightness, and the midbass does not support the midrange. The midrange is also muddled and unclear. However, the highs are particularly pleasent and sound almost like open-back headphones with it's openness. the First thing that i noticed was that the highs sounded pretty clear and detailed. Overall I think these headphones are a decent buy if they are discounted heavily, but the sound quality can be found in other headphoens for the same price, or cheaper.
These are a solid pair of headphones, especially for the price. Good sound and balance. They are very comfortabe to wear. Thats all pretty straight forward. However, if you like a lot of strong, robust bass like i do, these come up a little short. The sound is very balanced so the bass is not prominent as they would be in a pair of beats headphones. If you do not mind that though these are perfect for you. If bass is your main target, shop around a bit but these are great headphones nonetheless.
These are simplly the best headphones I have EVER owned and I owned a few. I prefer them to DR. Dre Beats do to the built in base (that isn't over whelming) and extremely acurate lows, mids, and highs that Beats seem to fail at. They are also EXTREMLY comfortable.
awesome sound just abit bulky though, but I use them listening to classical music while laying in bed or on the couch,so bulky really dont matter to me ! great buy for the price
Out of the box ,I was actually very disappointed with this but after given it > 150 hours for burn in ,it turned out amazing .
bass is a bit flat with some mp3 I tested but a simple hardware mod can fix it .
the sound is well balanced . it doesnt hurt your ears even if you wear it for hours
the cable is too thin and is only 4 feet
I have bought this Item on a sale , it was around $$23,though it was a refurbished one , and by reviewing about the item I decided to buy it. When I received the item, and started using, I was dissapointed with the performance, the quality was too low, as of items around $$10, I suggest not to buy it, for looks and design works well, but not for performance way. The music we hear from that is felt as if a $$2 cheap earphones music.
I use these to DJ at a small restaurant on the weekends and I have a speaker right behind me. With old headphones sound would leak in from the speaker behind me and I couldn't cue up the next one. With these headphones I have full isolation from outside sound and can cue up correctly without having to take too long. The only thing i don't like about them is that they don't fold up at all for easy storage and the wire is too thin. I feel like itll snap out of the headphones if I make a wrong twist or head shake or tug. but overall very happy with my purchase and they only cost me $30! perfect!
Great headphones, really enjoy the sound quality.
Was a bit worried buying refurbished headphones, but these were fine: clean, no signs of wear or funky smells. Were bubblewrapped and sealed in a plastic bag labled Sennheiser Factory Refurbished. Shipped in a plastic mailing bag with no additional packaging.
After some quick listening, they sound quite good and revealed lots of details from higher data rate files. Compared to some Senn HD 201s, the treble is clearer and the bass fuller. They're equally comfortable and seem to block out surrounding noise better.
So far, pleased with the upgrade. It's been a good way to experience some headphones a little higher up the Sennheiser line without spending too much.
I bought these refurbished during a super sale and was a bit spectacle as i had never used bigger sized headphones before, the only other pair i had was Sennheiser PMX 680. I looked around at the reviews and decided to buy and this was definitely one of my best buys for the season. The phones are very comfortable, provide good isolation from outside noise and sound great, much better than the Beats that i have tried of my friends which have their bass retaredly increased. These phones have very balanced bass and sharpness which can be changed using mp3 or media player equilisers. I would highly recommend them. I bought HD 202 and HD 428 together and can say that HD 428 sould better, are more comfottable to wear, the cord only comes out on one side as opposed to both sides on the HD 202 and a bit more expensive ofviously.
Great price for some nice entry level headphones with nice sound. VMinnovations delivered these quickly. Will recommend vminnovations to others in the future!
Hot damn these are some good headphones. I was worried as there are some cheap Sennheiser headphones out there that shouldn't be carrying the name. But these were right up there. Snug and comfortable, didn't feel I needed to take them off after 10mins like some cheap headphones out there. The bass was way better than I expected, then again I had grabbed some cheap HD 201 and regretted that. I also had the 428 and those werent too bad. Overall I would buy these again at this price.
First off, sound quality is there and is great. Does not peak even with a low quality song, which is a must for industrial quality. They are bigger than I expected, which is why I'm bumping off a star. If you're looking for something to walk around with, I wouldn't recommend these. I bought these for gaming, and they go great with my condensor mic.
Bought these headphones for work and the sound is awesome. They aren't noise cancelling but the over the ear design removes most of the outside noises. These factory recertifed headphones have been working flawlessy with no issues.
Quality/Immersive sound delivered with Comfortable, Lightweight, Thermo-cool design!
Great brand (and they are the ones that did the actual 'refurbishing' from what I have read) and, while the sound probably doesn't rival those $200 units and, of course, it doesn't have any active noise cancellation, you absolutely can NOT beat the realism, natural tones, and overall immersive sound for the price!
Got this one about two week ago, plan to try it but wait till last week.
The first hearing is not that good. Sometimes it also has some buzz in low frequency. I tried broke in this handphone for about 24 hours. Now it seems working fine. The sound quality is OK, not that good as my SONY MCR V6. A little bulky, but still OK for men. Just keep it for office use because the shop states that will only guanrantee the same quality, but not return.
These headphones came at a great price and sound fantastic. My pair came with a few scratches on the plastic, which was disappointing but I'm still pleased with my purchase at the price I got.
I've had the headphones for about a week now. It comes with a 90 day manufacturer warranty, in case the ones you get are defective for any reason, you can send it back in for another one.
Overall, they feel quite sturdy and do not leak any noise when playing at a comfortable volume. I'm a generally warm person, so when I have these one, sometimes my ears get very warm. However, when it's cold, it keeps my ears at the right temperature. The playback is crisp and overall just great.
Sound quality is phenomenal at the price point. Very clean highs with underpowered bass Pair this with a nice headphone amp and you have combination that would give headphones 10x the cost a run for it money. The quality was lacking though as the cord is the thinnest I have ever seen. I have opted to upgrade it.
Very good price for the quality, it was a good experience to shopping with vminnovation.
Even though it's a refurbished 428 but looks like a brand new one and the quality is good.
Bought these so my wife could listen to her computer while I was making noise. She loves them. The sound cancellation works perfectly for her. The only complaint is that the wire is too thin a guage and concerns me.
I'm not an audiophile, but I love Sennheiser headphones. After spending time w/ my HD 595s, I decided to pick these up as a knock-about house set of headphones. Even though they're refurbished, they're good as new. And the sound is high quality as well. They're very comfortable whether I'm wearing them while watching a movie on my iPad in bed, listening to music on my iPod, or looking at videos on the kitchen computer. A good choice for anyone, especially those just getting into audio and wanting to experience a good value in headphones.
Great headphones. Cord is a little short and low quality, but everything else about it is great.
These headphones are VERY nice. The sound is beautiful and the bass is not too heavy. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a cheap, good quality headphone.
Good sound quality and good built, not fully noise cancelling but it is nice for the price.
Try 'em you will like 'em. Great treble, even better bass; works in every application I have tried. The inside of my home kinda resembles an electronic superstore, I have tried most all applications. They are great headphones.
Sound quality is excellent for the price.
the swivels feel flimsly. These will stay on my desk, and not be transported often. If you're prone to breaking headphones, or want a pair to take with you and throw in your bag, these probalby aren't it.
also, the cable is extremely short; about 3.5 feet. no big deal though, have a 6 foot extension cable laying around that makes it perfect for listening to the computer.
Would buy again, if I need a pair of quality sounding headphones at a good price.
Great deal if you don't mind refurbished products. Sennheiser is an excellent brand.
Fits perfectly. Sounds great, for such a cheap price the noise cancellation is enough.
These phones are not noise cancelling like models made by Bose and others that use active circuitry. Rather they are very good ISOLATING headphones, meaning that they do a good job of blocking out the outside world. Like most Sennheiser phones the sound is outstanding. The comfort is also excellent. Great value if you're looking for closed ear (circumaural) headphones. I can't tell what is 'refurb' about them - - they were as new.
This was the first time I bought something on Brad Deals and these headphones were priced fantastic. I was a bit anxious to try them out because the pricing was so good, and the headphones work wonderfully!
It is not worth the price…I will not recommend any one to buy this product
Bottom line, these sound amazing and look great: one of the best values in over-the-ear cans. Be aware, the cable is very thin and tangles easily; it's anybody's guess how long it will hold up, but if it exceeds a year, it's worth my $23.50. Build quality is average, the headphones feel plasticky but are very comfy.
I love this headset! Very comfortable, sounds great and noise isolation is great. The price is perfect!
I took these headphones on a trip in the car and they worked like a charm, blocking out the road noises and the sounds of the kids. They are very comfortable and lightweight: I fell asleep while wearing them! The design is decent and seems fairly sturdy, although I wouldn't throw them around or pull on the cord too much. Overall, great product for the price!
Was expecting mediocre quality since it was refurbished, but was surprised when I got it, looks completely new and performs like it.
i was amazed at the shipping, i got the headphones in less thn 2 days. And the product exceeds my expectation.
Would definitely recommend to everybody.
The first time I picked these up they seemed a bit light. I guess the drivers aren't that big as they would take up a good portion of the weight. Overall the build quality is okay, and so is the comfort. My head is average sized or a hair over average, but this headphones didn't do a good job staying in place because they weren't pushing in enough, and there was nothing to adjust. The sound quality is overall above average but not spectacular. The bass is definitely lacking (even for rock music). It's been a while, but I used to have a pair of Sony's in this price range and they were superior. I'd probably be upset if I'd paid any more than the $24 that they were on sale for.
I use it for my mp3 plater to the laptop and a phone too!
order from vminnovations.com and received it. sound quality was good but there was certain buzz sound from some kind of musical instrument overlooked it and used it but left side speaker stopped working after 2 months and had to RMA for exchange and vminnovation charged me sending and receving shipping cost. will not buy again from vminnovation.
I use these as headphones for professional use in voice acting and listening to audio in my collection.
I love these headphones. They are absolutely wonderful considering I didn't spend too much on them. I gave em a good break in period and they sounded much better afterwards. The sound is rather balanced, works really well for a range of music and doesn't overpower. Also useful for listening to lectures, especially since they're super comfortable. I wear them for hours and don't mind at all.
I'm using these headphones as studio monitors while recording and editing voice overs. The audio imaging is pretty accurate on these guys, maybe a little bass heavy, but overall, I don't miss an "s" or a click with these puppies. Highly reccomended. They'd also be great for simply listing to music, but I wouldn't try running with them.
For the 30 dollars I bought it for (it retails at about ~100), this was an incredible deal. Quite comfortable on the ears, they stay where they need to be, and a cord that's decently long (and only comes out of one side). However, those who have other Sennheiser headphones will be either happy or upset to find out that the cord is only about 3 feet or so, as opposed to the almost 9 feet on other headphones. All around, however, excellent sound quality, they look great and fit well, and for the price I got 'em- bingo!
world-class sound. rock-bottom price. nuff said...
