The LifeSmart Mini Fireplace Heater is an infrared heater that supplements your house's heating while cutting your utility costs.
This heater, much like the infrared heating inside a toaster, is meant to heat objects in the room and provides a more natural warmth that won't dry out the air. Infrared heaters are designed to work in addition to your home's heating system. They are not meant to heat through walls or floors and work best in single insulated rooms.
Keep your room cozy without turning up the heat and save yourself some money this winter with the LifeSmart Mini Fireplace Heater.
Item is attractive to look at. Was expecting UL label but did not have that. Warnings about 3 prong chord to be plugged into a grounded outlet
rules out my plan to have it inside one of our two wood burning fireplaces. Our victorian home will need some electrical upgrading and even then, wonder about safety. Heat did come out fast, but I'm probably going to return it, since I can't use it where I wanted.
I really liked this small fireplace until recently. I've not had it 2 months yet. I never used the heater function. But it has developed a chattering that makes it useless. Fine for decoration if I have music or the TV on, but I wanted it for when I'm reading and now the noise of it running makes that unpleasant.
Read the dimensions of this little heater. They are accurate. It is meant to be a table top heater. If you are buying this to add ambiance, this will do that. It has nice, dancing, flames. If you are buying this to heat up a room on it's own, you might be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it does put out heat.
I have mine sitting on my large kitchen table. It keeps the cold edge off and I love the way it looks. So relaxing. There is minimal noise with the blower on. You can choose to have heat (with blower) or just the flames (for ambiance).
The switch is on the back. This can be cumbersome if you have it against a wall like I do. I just keep it out from the wall enough to get my hand back there.
As far as longevity of this little heater, I can not say. I have had it a week. If anything goes haywire, I'll update this review.
I use it in the cool mornings here in Tennessee.
I bought this from VMInnovations. I would have given this a 5 star if not for the price. To me, a fair price would be around the 40-50 dollar mark. I think it is overpriced for this small of a heater.
It arrived super fast. It was 2-3 days later! I was impressed. Shipping at VM is 5 stars.
It was packaged well. Take it out of box and plug it in...you have a tiny fireplace. Have a tiny glass of wine and enjoy!
May be buying another -- very neat!!
