Clear your driveway and sidewalks with ease with this Snow Joe Ultra SJ620 snow blower. This SJ620 snow blower delivers the power of a gas snow blower with the convenience of an electric unit. This Snow Joe Ultra SJ620 is easy to use and can tackle heavier snowfall on large driveways and walkways, and the SJ620 is efficient, simple to set-up, easy to handle and moves up to 650 lbs of snow per minute.
What was I waiting for. For years I shovelled, told myself that I liked the shovel but no more. I bought this snow blower for clearing off my deck in snow country, When it arrived I was surprised to see that there was virtually no assembly required, I only had to unfold the handle and tighten down the handle bolts to make it ready to go. I couldn't believe how little it weighed but yest how easily it moved the snow. I am never going back to using the shovel again, I was finished in minutes without breaking a sweat. The only compalint about this machine is the system used to swivel the direction of the snow is cheap and sticks. Other than that it, it attacks the snow. Great product for the price.
A powerful machine that easily cut through 10 to 12 inches of snow with the ease of a gas model. The recent January 2011 snow fall was no match to the surprising performance of the Snow Joe Ultra, a true friend that will not let you down clearing a heavy snow fall.
A great buy for the price, ordered on a Tuesday night and received delivery on Friday of the same week, free delivery and no tax!
This is a terrific product, and the only caveat I have is managing the long extension cord I need to do my whole property -- driveway, sidewalk and stone walkway. If you have someone to help you with the cord, clearing snow with this wonderful machine is a piece of cake, and far kinder on your back than shoveling.
I now have my outdoor extension cord on a reel.
I even was able to chew through all the old and new snow the city plow pushed across my driveway. I just had to be patient.
So far, it had handled a 12-inch snowfall with no problem at all.
Set-up couldn't be easier, though you'll need patience with the rod that operates the snow-throwing chute. The safety button works well.
We're getting our fifth snowfall tonight in North Jersey, and I won't lose any sleep over it with the Snow Joe at the ready in my garage.
this is a great little mechine and work easy to use. But before it show remove loss rocks and part of driveway. the mechine is plastic and rock can damage the insides of unit or throw the rock in to windows or neighbor.
Gets rid of snow easily. Worth the money. I would reccommend this product to those who have a lot of snow. It's light-weight and can be used without gas and oil. Easy to operate.
Just received four days ago. Wife laughed since we haven't had snow in a month. I'm laughing now, as I just cleared 12" from my 34' x 80' drive today without gas! Worked well. Does not have the guts of a $500 gas powered blower and the width is on;y 18". But for the cost, its great.
My husband wanted this thing and never used it last year as we had no snow after Christmas. This year he has used it 3 times!! It is electric, which means it is lighter weight but still does a good job . Do not wait until you get a LOT of snow to use it tho
Have not had snow yet but my wife loves it and just what she was looking for for our small payments in the yard.
Used it last night for the first time. Easily handled a 10 inch snow that had accumulated over several days while on vacation. Still some work involved, but much easier that shovelling.
Not the power of a gas thrower but unlike gas thrower very light. Set up was simple just unfold and tighten down the handle and attach the chute handle. No tools needed. Recommend you get an extension cord for cold weather use as it stays more flexible. I also got a reel for the cord. Able to clear a good sized driveway double wide and 90 ft long 6+ inches of snow in about 45 minutes without breaking a sweat. For a little thrower it does throw the snow a good distance. I am a fairly small woman and had no problem handling.
The plowed in stuff at the end of the driveway did take more effort, though it would with a gas thrower anyway. Found breaking it up some with a sapde shovel, then just working the thrower back and forth did the trick.Used twice in a few days and expect with Western NY winters to be getting a lot of use from this. Really money well spent.
Excellent machine for cleaning off the driveway...it's so lghtweight so it's just like vacuuming the driveway except you are throwing the unwanted material out of the machine.....my drive is on a slope,so the BIG HEAVY gas driven machines are cumbersome and just as much work as a shovel....I paid over 2 bills for mine and would do it again after 4 winters of hassle free service.
So I just ewtired back to WI after 30+ years of non white Christmases in CA. When I left for the left shoreline I had all the rememberances of the record cold and snow falls of my snow shoveling youth in the 50's and 60's. My dad was one for teaching his sons about hard work and perseverence. Our 40' driveway and old coal shovel taught us that. But with age came wisdom and with time came the internet. In retirement I opted for the snow blower I dreamed about as a kid. Ok, the Snow Joe ain't quite that as it doesn't come with a V-8 engine and heated water running through the handelbars, but it has done the job so far. My 60+ year old back appreciates that. I now have a 20' foot driveway and about 80' of sidewalk. My Snow Joe has 21' of snowunder its belt now ( 4-6 inches at a time). All my gas engine neighbors have made their visits and inquiries. They have been as impressed as me. It may be the smooth operation of the Snow Joe or it may just be my ever improving ballet with the 100' extention cord. I can also snow blow at 5:00 am without waking the entire block.I shopped every other site I could think of and VM innovations had the best price by $40-$100.00. The best price and free 3 day shipping...it is the logical choice my young grasshopper. Oh yeah, the set up. Anything that does not require tools should not be considered srt up. I mean really, unfold the handle, slip to rods together and hand tighten 5 screws...I didn't have to curse out one single designer...the wife appreciated that.
The Snow Joe Ultra is my very first snow blower and was very easy to set up and begin using. Just got a foot of snow in the Denver area so I got it out of the box for the first time and was throwing snow in 15-minutes. That much snow actually exceeded the height of the top deck, but it handled it pretty well considering how little the machine weights. I had thought that using a machine on a cord would be a hassle, but it really isn't too bad, and my lot is a large corner cul-de-sac. It works best with fresh powder, but digs down to get the compacted stuff fairly well too. The only question in my mind is how long the Snow Joe Ultra will last, but given the price, it will pay for itself after only a few storms.
Used it or the second time today. The first was for a 4 inch snowfall and initially was a bit concerned as it seemed to have difficulty pushing through the 4 inches, but it was more my learning how to appropriately angle the machine down towards the ground and off of its wheels. Then today trepidly took it out in 10 inches and with one pass I would see black top! It was quite impressive! I'm not a big guy at 146 pounds and was able to push through all that snow relatively easily.
My second year with this little guy! have a 300' driveway, even goes through the heavy stuff at the end of the driveway! Just have to take it slow!! Love it!!
Works great! It cuts through the snow like a hot knife through butter. I'm so glad I didn't spend another $200-$300 and get a traditional gas snowblower. I don't have enough of a driveway to warrant a larger snow blower. And I don't need to keep a gas can around to run it. Plus it doesn't take up that much space in my garage. VERY pleased with my purchase.
I don't write reviews (except ones like this). I bought this little guy to remove snow in Chicago 4-5 times each year. I expected 1-5 inches per snowfall so this was perfect. Hello 2013-14! It's only 1/3 of the way through the season and I've used this 'little guy' 6-7 times now. From 2 inches to almost 12 (be it slowly) it has preformed beyond what I expected. Simple, Effective, Reliable (at least to this point). Now bear in mind I bought it pre-season for right about $110 so if you paid more then I can't say from a value stand point. If you scored it for the same or less then it is a STEAL! Thus far it has been reliable, efficent and a great value.
Have only had to use it once so far - worked great - 5 inches of snow that was a light fluffy snow -hope it works as great on wetter snow. Easy to put together
The product meets my needs. I have a straight and curve drive way. I tried two times this winter and so far so good. The 1st time use was a little awkard. I needed to keep holding the cable from laying on the route, and switched the blower direction everytime when I turned around. Then. the 2nd time I figured out how to avoid it: I first blowed out a route in the middle of the drive way, then always cleaned the right hand side.
Missing a minor piece on arrival. Company sent the wrong piece first, but did send the correct piece although they should have acted a bit quicker considering that it might have been just as easy for me to return the snow blower for an exchange or a different brand. After "testing" the blower, another ?minor? piece broke off. Company tells me that I can't get the part replaced at this time. Otherwise, the blower looks like it would perform as expected. Until it snows though, any additional comments would be irrelevant.
The snowblower came very quickly, shipped safely. Very easy to set up. I am ready to tackle some snowfall. Afterwards remind my to update my review.
I ordered this snow thrower 2 weeks ago. It came within 3 days of ordering it. Assembly was very easy and took all of 5 minutes. it appears to be well constructed and now i am waiting for some snow to try it out on!. I did a dry run with it and it seems to be very easy to handle as well as change the direction that the snow blows while you are moving.
Good for under a foot of snow--if more you will need to use machine when there is a foot or less-and then repeat. don't have to worry about gasoline, or any maintenance.
This snow blower is very easy too use. We use it to clean off the deck and sidewalks. No more shoveling for us. Very easy to handle, can be used by adults of all ages, plugs in so no need for gas.
Delivery was very fast, just in time for the snow storm we had.
