Can anyone tell me for sure on chemicals what to use in here ? the pool company says not to shock it. I have no clue, but the water is turning green and I have added clorine.. Please help. I have no clue what to do.
Set it up on my patio last year, put in the basemant for the winter and set it up again on my patio in the Spring. still works great. It is a tremendous value considering the price and how much we use it.
After owning a "real" hot tub for 15 years we moved and could not bring it with us. We purchased a home with a basement and that was converted into a man cave and we purchased this bubble spa. Lack of water jets was a consideration but we bought it anyway. Simple to set up and use. Only used granular Sodium DiChlor which is safe for vinyl and plastic pools etc. After 18 months of 24/7 use, except during every 90 days drain clean and flush and refill the pump quit. The pump has a ceramic shaft that has broken and the pump is not available anywhere i could find. A normal circulation pump for a spa is in the $300.00 range and cost as much as a new pure spa. Intex service is a joke so we will try to get square deal or some other third party warr on the next one if needed. We are heartbroken. This is the greatest little spa ever and fits through the basement door where a real one will not. I am trying to fit an external pool pump to attach to the internal hose connectors so the flow will be 'seen' and the heater will work again. if not i will prob have to buy another from VMinovations as the shipping and price is right.
We were thinking about purchasing a high dollar spa, but weren't sure that we would us it so we decided to start with this one. We have had it now for about 3 months and we have used it almost every day! We love it and were happy about the price. If this one wears out, we may consider a different choice, but for now we will continue to use this one...every day!!
I like to soak 2 to 4 times a day as it is a great stress buster. I especially use it before bed and I sleep better.
Great price! Very well made. I have worked in many manufacturing places and know the quality of a lot of products. this i can say is very well made. Top quality. Works very well. looks good.
This is a great spa for the money, we use it everyday. The temperature hasn't gotten below 38 outside yet since we bought it, but at 38 the spa never went below 68 and that was with it turned off all night. We turn on the heater it the morning and it is heated to 104 by 9:30 at night. Love it.
We live in northern Wisc and have had the tub outside for 9 months. We use it almost daily and it has been absolutely wonderful until the temperature started to drop and the heater had difficulty keeping up with the outside temp. With a few wraps of insulation from a local hardware store we are again enjoying our tub even in - 4 degree F weather (especially with it snowing.) We love this tub!
love it try to use it everyday relaxing , just a little loud but dealing with it Just bought a second one for a x-mas present
This spa works very well. The bubble feature is like getting a massage. Very easy to use and care for. Not very hard to set up. The best therapy for a stressed world.
I love this intex spa, very sturdy and holds up well. Plug the pump in at night b/4 bed, Next day water temp is 104. Excellent relaxation technique. I love how the heat stays on when massage is running. Most spas give you the option of Massage or heat. Intex heats the air before going to air chamber. I love the flowing, bubbling water. Some people may not like the noise from the bubble jets. Excellent customer service when I would call with questions. I have ordered square intex tub now. Ask for Alex in Customer Service, he will work with you to resolve any issues so you are a satifisied customer.
This is a wonderful intex pure spa I bought from VMinnovations through Ebay. I set it up in 30 degree weather it only took two days to reach 104 and stay. I put up a 10x10 screened-in canopy over the SPA with a tent light. It's really nice at night and during the day with the bugs coming out. I can only take about 15-20 minutes in the tub and I'm ready to get out. I have two inflatable headrests and a intex cup holder for this model spa. I am disabled so I really feel the benefits from bathing in the tub with the bubbles. Intex actually has four models of the spa. The black models have 4 Jets instead of bubbles, the tan colored model has 120 bubbles. It comes in two differenet shapes but they have the same 210 gallons of water. Dependning on body size it can be a 1-4 person sized hot tub. The pump has a built in heater, air and filters. Includes everything you need to start your spa, except your common spa chemical. PH UP, PH DOWN, ANTI FOAM, CHLORINE are some things you'll need including a vacuum and a skimmer. I used the PAYPAL CREDIT offer of 6 months no interest or payment offer.
Very easy to set up and maintain. Looks great.....wonderful quality. Been using this spa every day since we set it up. Would highly recommend. Took a full day to raise the temperature to 100 degrees. Have had it up to the maxiumum temp of 104 degrees but between 98 and 100 degrees is our preference.....maintains it's temperature with the cover on and only drops a degree or two at the most when using the spa especially when using the bubbles. Two adults fit with plenty of leg room. Have it set up under a canopy on the patio. Like the idea that it can get packed away for the winter. Great spa for the price....worth every penny spent and than some.
Sold my full sized hot tub when i moved, Bought this as a cheap replacement. Easy to set up and very enjoyable. Seems well built but only time will tell. Heated up from about 65 degrees to 100 in about 24 hours, just as I expected. I love it and unlike my old one, when winter comes I will drain it and put it away. Very comfortable for one to two persons.
We have been using our spa for 3 weeks and it has performed very well. Set up in the basement for now as we have an area with an exast fan. Adults I would say two maybe three. Heats back up very quickly, filters easy to change and clean and the bubble jets are strong. Very happy so far this spa has really hit the spot with this record breaking cold/snow Chicago winter.
Only had it one week but am very impressed. I am research obsessive in all I buy, want inimal risks and top quality/price. So after looking into all brands of smaller hard tubs and competitive inflatable soft tubs, the Intex looked the best in all respects. It on our front covered wood porch, and has just one inch to spare. The quality of the packaging materials, hardware (controls cabinet), tub outer and inside vinyl, cover vinly, and electronic controls are excellent. The power cable is very heavy gauge and about 12 ft long with the GFCI test box about 6" from 3-prong plug so does not interfere with using other outlet. I at 185 lbs can sit on the tub side without almost no deflection. The tub walls and floor are very comfortable (firm and not squshey) and has perfectd friction to keep your feet from sliding out if you don't want. At 6'0" tall, I can scooch down and rest my head/neck on the upper wall and my foot toes can press against the opposite side....plenty. With just my wife and I inside, there is plenty of room for 2 or more if legs not fully extended. Sitting indian style, we could easily fit 5. My wife at 5'3" was afraid it would be too deep but sitting, the bubbling comes up to her chin and without bubbling, upper chest. The power of the bubbling action is very strong/vigorous and you can feel and hear it very much. The heater did as claimed, 2.5 deg/hr (says 2-3deg/hr), our ground water was 53 deg. I was suspicious of the quality since there was only one reviewer and not made in USA like the hard hot tubs, but it is really well made of very tough material like a boat tender. VM Innovations did not know much info on the tub but you can get Q's answered from Intex which is direct to China customer service. I had heard that model 28401 and 28403 had diff material, but that is untrue. On the later model 28403 (mine), the GFCI box is nicer and hangs below the elect plug and there is an On/Off button on the console which I use. This model also has an extra wattage unit that prevents/reduces matter buildup on the heater element (can see it), a smart improvement. I like the spa almost perfectly but nothing is perfect so here are some minor negatives. The red digital readout is not easy to read during daytime unless directly in front and close, the buckle clips for the cover and difficult to release (have to squeeze both sides and pull and not easy). I had to add air to the cover under air chamber after one week, maybe I did not push the vinyl knob hard enough into the hole....of style like on an air mattress. And I think it is not of the kind where it is a check valve to prevent air from escaping when you pull knob out....but not sure. The vinyl ground cover has little air bubbles on the under side; unit is thin and very lightweight but maybe OK, easy to add thicker ground piece if needed or even closed cell foam, inexpensive. My porch is about 5/8-3/4" unlevel but it does not seem to matter. With two of us in tub with bubbling turned on, the water is about 4" below seam at top of inner wall....no problem. We have the tub filled to mid way between min and max. So far I have tried 98 deg and 101 deg (hot enough for us) and unit has no problem with maintaining it and loses only about 2-3 (with bubbling) when we get out. It is also nice to just enjoy without bubbling with only the quiet heater jet moving the water. Like I said, I am very impressed and pleased and enjoying it. I have been looking at hot tubs for 15 years but did not like the heavy weight, needing a 220v circuit, the huge price (at least 10x this tub), the heavy cover, and no flexibility to move it. When winter comes, we might (?) move this unit into our garage, easy to make room for it at only 75" dia. And VM Innovations are super to work with, very customer focused. Oh, also watch out for friction pump heaters in the hard tubs....used in the lowest cost tubs....customer service at major US mfg'er of 10 brands said only someone who lives in CA or FLA should get one because it barely can put out 1 deg/hr....not good. Also when the hard tubs are used on 110v instead of 220v, the heater and pump are similar output of the Intex. Good luck on your decision. Hard tub dealer will say inflatable tubs are crap and not last one year and laugh at you considering one.
First, my last review was incorrect in saying you could see the heater unit that deters coil buildup, you cannot. I found out that the spa cover has a check valve type of inflation opening like a quality air mattress so air does not escape when you stop inflating. I will continue to search why it becomes softer as though it is losing air (?), it may be that it loses air until it reaches proper air pressure (?). We had 24 deg for 2 nights, so since the manual recommends not to use spa under 39 deg outside temp, I easily wrapped a sleeping bag around the control cabinet (digital readout protrudes out top) and placed a floor mat below the cabinet on my wood deck. It maintained temp easily at setpoint and most of time did not have the heater was not running. Hard hot tubs have the hardware inside the tub shell cabinet that is insulated from outside air, whereas the Intex has the hardware outside the tub. So a little ingenuity helps.
I bought this in December and it is great. I use it daily, my back feels so much better. Only negative is the electric bill will double, still well worth it for me.
I have been looking a portable spas for quite a while and read the reviews on the Intex Inflatable Spa and that was all it took. It is very sturdy and so easy to set up. The first night I used it I slept like a rock; so relaxing and enjoyable. If you are on the fence, get off the buy one!!
I dont put it up in the winter I use it year around on my outdoor patio. Feels great on my arthritus !
As I indicted befor it is great in Florida but would be difficult to use up north in the Winter becasue the unit is poorly insulated
This is a great tub for the money. If you follow the instructions it is a breeze to set up and use. I would recomend getting extra filters the ones that come with it get dirrty fast. We live in the south and I have used tub everyday for a month. It really is a soaking tub the bubbler is great but the tub cools quickly whith extended use. You will need to get a few chemicals as well but tub is easy to keep clean. I would clean filters every week and replace every eight weeks or as needed depending on level of use. So far I have been very pleased. i would not let children rough house in it. Clearly not made for alot of splashing.
