Better than monitor speakers

I recieved this product for free in order to give it a listen and give a typical users review.

First off, these look pretty good for the price, much better than most $100 2.1 systems I have seen. The speakers however feel light and cheap, but at this price point, I wouldn't expect much else. These had a strong smell of new plastic or glue when first taken out the box, went away after a day or two.

The one major problem I have been having is an annoying buzz, I believe this unit is picking up noise from my computers 3.5mm jack. It's quite noticeable and gets louder with the volume turned up, butyou don't hear it while music is playing.

The bass is adjustable, but seems either quite boomy and loud, or inaudible, notreal satisfactory level. But if you want loud, it does the job well.  Turn the "bass" knob down, and it seems you lose midrange as well, as the speakers themselves sound more like just tweeters, no midrange at all.

If it wasn't for the buzz, this may have been a decent set for the price. I'm picky, so I don't think any $50 2.1 will do the trick for me, but if you need more sound that monitor speakers can put out,

Would I recommend this to a friend or family member? Yes
Pros
  • Easy to Use

VM Audio EXCS212 review

I recieved the VM Audio EXCS212 and begain to look at packaging and over all constuction of the product as I unboxed it. I was suprised to find out sturdy all the pieces were from the small satilite speakers to the decent sized subwoofer. Looking over the rear panel set-up was a breeze with all inputs labled and easily visible. Rca's for various connections where in the box for multiple setups. Setup was quick, so i begain giving it a listen. I played this enerty level sytem low for a while i cleaned up my mess from the unboxing. To myself I though "wow" this is a great sounding little setup. After some listening of music I started to check for any heat disapation on the unit or just looking for any flaws or irregularities. Not one found, This is a well manufatured unit. After finishing my music demo of the VM Audio EXCS212 I hooked it in to my tv audio out. This was simple with Rca cord provided. I watched a bit of TV and realized That i had never touch the bass/subwoofer gain. So i disconnected from TV and went back to the Music. Barley turning the bass/sub gain i was impressed very quickly. There was tight crisp bass, not bland, muddy sounding. With all speakers driven and setup this VM Audio EXCS212 will blow you away and is offered at a very affordable entry level. In my final opinoin on the VM Audio EXCS212, i would reccomend this unit to anyone who is looking for a nice entry level setup with good overall sounding performance.

Great system that saved our hearing

I purchased the system to actually lower the volume. When my wife was watching TV in the the back bedroom. The volume level was loud enough to be heard in other rooms. The problem was the bad speakers on the TV (I really thought she was going deaf). I wanted something that was easy to connect, small foot print and clear crisp sound. The VM Audio 2.1 System did the trick. My wife can now hear what she is watching on the TV and I don't have to. The hardest part of the setup was trying to kill the speaker on the TV and reroute the audio through the cable box then to VM Audio sytem. This had nothing to do with the VM system it was a cable company remote issue. The speakers are sitting on a wall mounted shelf under wall mounted TV and Sub is sitting on the floor. The VM 2.1 Mutimedia System sounds good, looks neat and you will have a hard time finding a better sytem for the price.
