Very Good for the Money

I wanted to add depth to our HDTV, and this fit the bill.  It did not have a remote, which I did not mind.  Also the blue light around the bass control didn't work; however, I did not really care in this case.  It does what it was meant to do.  The thing I hated most was that I was unable to register the product as the website for registration would not work.

Great for the Price!!

I really like these speakers, they are a really quality for the price. They are very clear and the sub actually produces some good bass. I like that the volume control and the bass control are really accesible right on the front of the sub! I'd definitley recomend these speakers!!

Great for the price

Ok so I will start off with prosPros:great soundeasy to connect (I mean easy my 2 year old niece did it on her own)loud and clearvariable bass so you can find the sound you likecool blue lightcompactwall mountI have waited a couple of days to do my review trying to come up with something bad to say... but for the price this is well worth the money. Possibly more. My biggest issue is it does not have a remote, but for the price I think I would be asking for to much.Thank you VM Audio for selecting me and sending this item free to do a review. I recommend this product for anyone looking to get a 2.1 system.

Beginner setup

I was given this setup in a giveaway with the condition that i write a review about. This setup is extremely easy to connect, the only issue i have with it is that all the cables are a bit short. I have it connected to my tv to watch movies and play on my ps3. The 2 speakers sound decently good but the bass is lacking. The bass control can only go about ahlf way before the bass starts distorting. But still this is all an upgrade compared to the tv speakers i was using before. So overall this is a good setup for beginners or those that just need a cheap upgrade.

GREAT for the Price, Read full review, it may help! =)

This system is very good; it has a very nice sound.  I bought them as computer speakers becausemine were so quiet. The subwoofer is pretty powerful, but if you want somethingthat will blow everything in your room away when the bass drops, this isnít it.I read all of the reviews before buying and I was in the middle at first (as toif they would be good or not) but it turned out pretty good. You cannot find abetter system than this for under $35, so itís a pretty good bargain.---I had a bit of a problem when I got this system though, one of the speakers was malfunctioned and the sound was really distorted onsome songs. So I picked up the other speaker and listened, and it sounded likeheaven. So I figured it wasnít the quality of the system, it was just a flawedspeaker. I called customer service right away and told them and they sent me anew individual speaker, free of charge, free shipping, USPS first class mail, Iwas quite surprised. They didnít even make send back the flawed speaker, theysaid I could keep it for parts or trash it or whatever!

----This is a GREAT SYSTEM FOR THE PRICE! I would reallyrecommend these speakers. If you buy them and are disappointed with them, don'tbe disappointed, just call customer service and they'll really help you, chances are itís just a flawed system.

Value + Quality = VM AUDIO

OK, so i read all the reviews before purchase, i agree with most of them. This is not a high end speaker system. It is meant for simple enjoyment with portable devices and desktops/laptops. It's constructed very tight, compact and powerful. Well designed.

NOW, with that said, let's address a few things i read in comments and my personal experience.

For those that complain bass turned past half way the system gets distorted, well this is true,                                                       "if you depend on your on-board audio"' w/ no equalizer and/or lack of proper audio codecs, IE; AL Open Audio etc                          you can find open source "freeware" cross platform audio enhancements here... http://www.fsf.org/resources/                                   AND for those unaware, Win7/8 have a Linux kernel built in, you can use Linux software on it, using xorg for my audio on Win7          My ASUS Card prefers xorg drivers over the provided WIN drivers, plus i can still use it's provided adjustment software.

For me, i have an ASUS Xonar, w/ several adjustments for sound, i turned volume/bass all the way up on the subwoofer and volume all the way down on my Desktop. "NO DISTORTION" Then i slowly increased volume while adjusting my equalizer. I found something very interesting as i was adjusting, that knob for bass volume, well that's a gain knob, "not"  for dedicated bass adjustment .         If you notice when you raise bass "gain" volume past 11 o'clock, you start  raise bass "gain" on satalites.                                     So there you have it, you want a guitar to distort, crank the gain!

With a few tweaks I found the following settings to be the best default with this system, I tweaked it w/on-board and my card.

Volume at 2 o'clock, Bass "Gain" at 11 o'clock, preset equalizer to "jazz" and lower your 30 & 60 to 1/3 value.                           Keep volume from system at 90% and your chosen media player at 80%, remember media player volumes are also "gains".

This is a punch bass based system, not flex like w/car audio, 12" for ROCK/BLUES and 10" for HIP HOP/TECHNO, 4" for quick punch. keep that in mind before you start cranking volumes, "K.I.S.S". The smaller the speaker the more punch you get, "Sub-Woofers".

I find this system to preform 200% better than comparable products in price range, Why? The technology behind this system is a step ahaead of even Creative and Logitech. Although they incorperate basically the same componants, VM has upped the ante.       They give us a HIGH quality product at an extremely affordable price, Maybe they are just making a statement, BUY NOW!!!!           You know what happens when supply and demand don't meet, if this Company ends up in Major Chains...well, Like gas prices!!       It would cost upwards of $75-$100 to get a comparable quality out of the "mass market" brands.

In conclusion i had the system running for 8 strait hours, w/ various music genres, at those level i set, no changes in sound quility.    But i did notice the system seems to favor 48k studio, anything lower and i noticed a drop in high frequency clearity                        One thing i will do when warranty is up is add a LED lit on/off button to the top left on face plate!

I am going to order the next level up, next week,..and pass this one on to the wife, she loves it. AND I WANT THIS ONE !!!

VM Audio speakers

For the cost which for me was around $25 they are okay.  I have them hooked up to my 32" flat screen in my bedroom and they are fine in that environment.  If you are looking for window shaking performance you better figure on spending much more money.  I've only had this for a short while and one of the blue lights surrounding the control knobs has quit working already.  I was looking for something inexpensive to listen to my TV with and these are fine for that.
