Excellant kayak.

Mostly uses in the local lakes. It takes about 10 minutes from parking the car to launching the kayaking including inflation and readying the gear. I was out a few days ago in fairly strong winds 10-15 knots and the kayak handled exceptionally. The kayak comes with a pair of oars that serve their purpose nicely. This is the second time I purchased this kayak. My first kayak lasted about 1 and 1/2 years and developed some holes between the seam where the seat attaches to the body. This was most likely due to me fully inflating the kayak. It's best to inflate as to the specs and not attempt to inflate 100% as when you sit in it the additional pressure will cause too much stress. Recommend 100% for lake kayaking. I have gone out 4+ hours  and felt quite comfortable the entire time.

Great, safe, inflatable

Great inflatable.  Like one of the reviewers said be careful to not over-inflate, it puts too much pressure on the seams, this is the case for all inflatables.  I've used Innova and Aire kayaks in the past and this has similar material.  It doesn't track like those two brands but does well enough for most lakes and inshore fishing.  The fact that it has 2 large air chambers and 6 smaller ones automatically make it extremely safe.  The likelihood of all chambers failing while out on the water is probably close to zero.  I was also surprised at how big it is, it can handle a lot of weight.  I'm 6'2" and 240.  It works great for just me or me and one of my kids.  Anyone who has ever owned a poly or other rigid kayak knows that the biggest pain is the transport.  Nothing beats an inflatable that you can fold up and put in the car.  I bought a large hockey bag on clearance and use it to store 2 of these.

VM Innovations shipped two of these to me in 2 days.  Awesome service, I will continue to shop at this site as they have a great combination of price and service.

Wow! Exactly what I wanted.

Great boat and great experience with vminnovations.com. This was my first order at this site and it was a great experience - I ordered Sunday and my Kayak was here (half way across the USA) Tuesday morning, and that was with standard shipping. Nice!

So we took the Kayak out twice today - once on a shallow creek and once on a slow moving river. Both trips were very fun and no problems. Here are some of the things I really liked about the Kayak:

- Very stable, even on light rapids I never felt there was even a chance of tipping over.

- Once you get the tandem paddling down it moves at a descent pace.

- No issues with tracking, it has a small skeg which seem to do the job when two are on the Kayak. My son did a little solo work and I did notice when he was on alone the Kayak did 'roll' a bit with each stroke.

- TWO TALL PEOPLE FIT. I'm 6'0 and my son is 5'11. Both fit fine. Also between the two we put about 375 lbs on the Kayak, no problem, the weight limit is about 600 lbs.

- Can go in very shallow areas - 6 inches deep water is ok fully loaded. The problem is of course that it's hard to move because the paddles are scraping the bottom.

- Really comfy seats

- Can pump up / take down in 5 minutes with a hand pump - it is a bit tiring pumping the two main chambers though!

- Not pictured but it actually comes with two full kayak paddles, not one.

Drawbacks? Two minor issues

- The stock paddles are pretty low quality - you really have to tork them together to keep them from falling apart - makes them very hard to take apart when they are wet and slippery.

- You will get wet, not soaking wet, but wet... can't be helped. Wear a bating suit and have a towel in your car to sit on.

Highly impressed with this Kayak

We bought this kayak to take on a vacation to Laughlin NV for use on the Colorado river.  It was better than we expected by far, we used it every day on the river.  We wanted an inflatable kayak that we could pack in the trunk of the car and inflate easily.  This took only minutes to inflate with a pump we bought that plugs into the car.  This was very stable and sturdy feeling and my husband and I both had room to stretch our legs straight out.  I was not expecting much from an inflatable as far as tracking and handling but this one is very good.  We had no problems at all with this.  We did use our own paddles that we have for our other kayaks....so can't tell you how good the paddles are that come with this kayak.  All in all I would buy this again, and have recommended it to a few other people already.  This was a great value!

Don't leave it in the sun!

This kayak was great.  We enjoyed it very much.  However don't leave it in the sun, the air inside will get warm, expand the air chambers, and ruin the kayak.  I really wished the company put a warning sign on it.  We left it in the yard for a late afternoon ride and came back to find the front seat was a huge bubble on top and bottom.  Can't really use it again.
