Sharp's CV-P10PC Portable Air Conditioner is easy to move from room to room. It provides quiet cooling with sleek and attractive styling and a Plasmacluster ion generator that release positive and negative ions into the air. You can also use the CV-P10PC as a dehumidifier to remove up to 60 pints of moisture from the air in a single day. An included fully featured remote control with LCD display allows you to control the unit from virtually anywhere in the room. The flexible exhaust hose and window adapter kit allow venting of hot air, while keeping rain and insects out.
Sharp products have always impressed me, and this a/c is no exception. The hose that vents the hot air does need to be insulated as it gets pretty warm. The cooling capacity is adequate for a big bedroom, but wouldn't handle much more than that, at least not here in Orlando in the summer. It's quiet enough for sure. It seems well built as most Sharp products are. With our super humid air, it puts out a good bit of water. I use a three gallon plastic waste can and dump once a day, usually near the top. I'm satisfied so far, but have only been using a couple of months now.
I shopped for deals on this exact Sharp Unit and found nothing under $399.00. This refurbished Sharp unit runs exactly like my sister's at her house. The Ionizer blaster rids the room of musty summer time odors. Highly recomended! Oh, and it's quiet!
They call it "library quiet," and they're right---compared to at least one other portable AC I tried (and quickly returned), this Sharp model does the job efficiently and, best of all, quietly. Like others have noted, wrapping the exhaust hose (and keeping the length as short as possible) with some basic insulating material takes care of any heat issues--I just used a roll of inexpensive adhesive pipe cover and topped that with some bubble wrap, and that was that. The unit even includes automatic louvers that you can raise and lower using the remote (it's kinda like Sulu operating the Enterprise's deflector shields). At around 85 lbs it's a pretty hefty machine, but well worth it. Live long and....stay cool!
I just received and installed this portable A/C and I love it! I created an outside office, here in Phoenix where it will frequently be 100+. The unit is easy to install in a side casing window and set up very quickly. It is fairly quiet and cools the small room very quickly. Thus far, I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever about this product.
Packaging was damaged and item was "full" of dirt wen we opened it up. A portion of the item was cracked, but it still worked. I purchased this for my son's dorm room in the Midwest and given the distance between home and school, i was not able to take the time to challenge the purchase and exchange it. We did manage to clean it out and it works, but when puchasing a recondition item, I would expect it to be nearly new like in appearance. We live in Seatle and have two of these air conditioners in our home for those few days when it does get warm in Seattle. Having one at each end of our home on the main upper floor (approx. 950 s/f) keeps the house very comfortable).
Although I have A/C in my house, I live in Arizona, and keeping it nice and cool is expensive. This unit allows me to raise the thermostat in the house when we're in the bedroom. Thus we have a nice cool bedroom and don't have to cool the entire house at night. Plus, if ever the main unit fails, we don't have to panic because we have this unit.<div id="ynano_hooks_page" style="display: none;"></div> <div id="ynano_hooks_page" style="display: none;"></div>
I was shock when I test this product compare LG and Haire portable AC. A lot more cooler and quiet.
After I use it within a month, I had recommend this product to all my family and friends.
