Great filter, threw the cartridge filter in the trash and elected to go with the sand filter.. Easy set-up. Cleaned my 16 x 42 pool up in on one day after fill up.. Took a week and a half with the cartridge filter plus 6 filters at $10 per.. Will pay for it's self within the 1st yr.. No leaks, looks good. Should have done this 4 yrs ago..

We have a 15' x 48" above ground pool.  Stayed cloudy all the time.  The terribly undersized cartridge filter system it came with was not doing the job.  Plus a pain dealing with the filters to constantly clean and replace.  Ordered this sand filter and pump, hooked it up, and within a day, crystal clear water.  Came with everything we needed, including any adapters, except for the sand ($7.50 at local pool store).  Easy to follow intructions and DVD helped out very much.   Now we are not ashamed to have guests over.  Get this for your smaller sized A/G pools.  Lot less time maintaining, and more time enjoying the pool!

This pump is perfect for your average above ground pool. It may seem like too much, but it isn't. No more filters to clean or buy. Almost zero maintenance. Keeps our 20' round 48" deep pool, crystal clear. Takes two minutes every two weeks to backflush. Sand is said to last 5 years. Really quite and moves the water really well. Timer works good, but is a little too simple. I would recomend spending the money and leaving the cruddy filters and extra maintenance behind. I love it. Takes the work out of pool ownership.

This is a high-speed upgrade for an original cartridge low-speed, inadequate filter.  Our down-South heat index has lingered in the 105 degree range all summer...algae love it. But with this new sand filter we finally got ahead of the algae and now (after a week of use) the pool stays clear 24/7 and clear between shocks.

I can never go back and wished I had never known the pleated filters ever existed.

The pump arrived quickly and it was easy to assemble.  It works great - I vacuum the pool then backwash the filter, very simple.

GREAT pump, no more buying filters every 3'd week...  Buy the sand 1 x every 3 years...  The pool water has sparkled ever since purchasing...

The sand - for 50 pounds is $10.00 that is all you need for 3 yrs.

One hint, be sure the plug is always under shelter or covered in some way as it will trip off if it rains hard...

This was the best investment for my intex pool. There is not worry to replace cartridges and the water has been crystal clear all summer. Vacuuming is much easier as the fine particles are captured in the sand. Well worth the money and saves a lot of time maintenance wise.

Works great for my 16' intex pool.  I only run it 4 hours a day.  Much better than the cartridges.  Only need one 50 lb. bag of sand from your local pool shop.  It's the best price I could find with shipping included.  The shipping was fast and I would recommend to anyone.  I wish I made this purchase sooner.

It makes cleaning the pool so much easier. You can pay for the pump by saving on what you normally spend on filters the first year. I absolutely love the difference it has made.

This filter and pump were just what we needed.  We were having trouble with the cartridge type filters and keeping the pool clean.  When our third filter quit, we decided to upgrade to this setup.  What a difference.  The pool is now crystal clear and easy to keep clean and our chemicals seem to be more stable.  We are very satisfied.

This sand filter is a good deal for the money, and good alternative to the cartridge filter system that comes with most above ground pools.  I put it on a 2000 gallon poly pool from Walmart.  I had to buy an adapter from the local pool place for the intake, and had to enlarge the hole for the outlet. BTW, I was worried about how to do this, but it turns out you can just cut into the liner without worrying about it ripping (or at least it worked for me). 

Another benefit is that the pump is strong enough to run a real vacuum, so I don't have to use the water hose vacuum.

If you have an above-ground pool you might as well plan on buying one fo these, or spending a lot more on cartridges, water, chemicals, and time.

Great product.  This item was purchased for our swimming pool.  If you have am Intex 16x48 pool this product is a definite.  The filtering system that is sent with this pool is not strong enough to push the water and circulate chemicals that are necessary to keep your pool sparkling clear. 

it was an easy quick process and it works great.
