Husqvarna 445 18-Inch 45.7cc Gas Powered Chainsaw (Refurbished)

I HAVE FOUND THE 445 TO BE WELL BALANCED, VERY EASY TO START DUE TO A COMPRESSION RELEASE, AND A ABUNSANCE OF POWER FOR THE BIG WOOD.

This machine likes to saw wood.  Its been a long time since I used a quality chain saw.  Normally this saw would be in the $400 range with tax, ect, ect.  @ $197 it is the best monies that I have ever spent.  Poured Gas and Bar oil in it and started cutting fire wood.   Tell John Menard to keep his $120 saws that are junk with no replacement parts available........   

Works great and has plenty of power!  After putting the bar on and adding fluids, started right up after a few pulls.  Once warmed up it started a lot easier as well.  Don't be scared by the refurbished state of the saw.  It works like brand new!

Great saw for $197.00. Have already cut close to a cord of wood and have had no issues with performance. This saw is hands down twice the quality as the 42CC poulan i used to have.

I am a 5'2" female with my own business that has required me to become comfortable using a chainsaw.  I am not crazy about it at all.  How many women want to use a chainsaw...let alone use one daily?  But what's a girl to do?  After using this 445 Husky for 2-3 hours a day for 7 days in a row, my determination is that this chainsaw rocks!!  After having some issue with my original Husky, I decided to buy this one as a back up while my other one was being repaired.  It came out of the box and went straight to cutting wood without any glitches except a user error when I flooded it trying to start it the first time...I guess it might be a good idea to read the directions first.  It is balanced and lightweight enough for me to carry and use without getting tired.  I have been cutting through hard wood, red oak to be exact.  In sizes ranging from  3 inch limbs to 18 inch trunks and it handled them all without any problem.  Cosmetically the chainsaw appeared to have been slightly used but very nominally.  The chain that came with it was definitely the worst part of the whole thing, it needed to be sharpened and after putting a new chain on it, it was apparent that I should have just skipped putting on the one in the box.  I haven't tried it (the original chain) yet, but I suspect it will cut just fine now.  All in all, I am REALLY excited that I bought this saw.  It is now my main saw and I think it was a steal at the price.  Even though my Husky 350 is a "better" saw it has been high maintenance.  I may just have to buy another one of these for backup and sell my 350.

The item was not restored to   the  original state.  I do not mind scratches.  The chain  keeps running when   engine is idling. Very dangerous.Needs probably new  clutch.  I could not  correct it  with   idle rpms. The chain  came completely dull,  chain was not self-feeding at   all.  The Tensioning system is a  joke.  The chain gets loose very quickly. Moreover, the overall quality  of  the saw  leaves  a lot  to be desired.  I mean here  among  other things a plastic clutch  cover with a  plastic  nut.  On the  good side  the engine started after 5th  pool  with no  problems. What  I could tell it  had a plenty of  power.  I am   exchanging it  for the  Husqvarna 18".

Great saw for homeowner with more than just a little wood to cut. not quite commercial grade but a step up from avg homeowner grade. blows my Mac 16" away hands down. First husky I have owned. Cuts through wood like butter.

I really like this saw!! It has plenty of power and the shipping was quick. I consider myself someone who doesn't complain much. With that said I try to be a humble as i can. The issue i have is the saw that I received came in looking rough and was not cleaned well at all. Whoever had it before me must have really used the hell out of this thing. It had sractches on the side by the tensioner and the bottom of the saw as well. The saw still had GRASS! in it by the air filter. Comeone guys... that is NOT exceeding the factory specs. The saw itself was dirty. Remember that when you buy this saw you are taking a gamble on what kind you will receive. You could get one that someone had for a day or a year! It is just something to consider since i believe i was somewhat misleaded by these reviews....

I've used chainsaws most of my life for cutting firewood and trimming trees after storms.  This one is as good as they come.  I had wanted a bigger one, but decided this would be the right size for what I need at this point.  It eats wood .  It is not a lightweight, by any means, but not too heavy either.  If you're going to be cutting all day long, you will notice the heft, but to me, that is a good thing.  Great saw for the average homeowner.  Even though this one was refurbished, I couldn't tell it from a new one.  Perfect in every way.

I couldn't get the sidecover off,findly after 5 minutes of work, the brake is too tight on the clutch.Got the bar and chain on couldnt get the sidecover back on to save my soul.Never in 40 yrs. of chainsaws have I had a saw with a sidecover with one screw to hold on bar, with the brake handle not part of the sidecover[bad design].Let pray the chainsaw is better than the cheap product it seems to me for the price.

This saw is very powerful,and all it wants to do,is tear down wood.I have the perfect job for this saw.It started up on the second pull.The saw is not too heavy but feels very sturdy and comfortable to control.It has alot of features and came with a great chain and bar.This is the second chain saw i have bought for this company,with no complains.What you see on the site is what you get in the box.The delivery was fast I receive my saw in about 4days.I have my eyes set on getting a better saw in the near future,maybe one of those 24inch big dogs.I think if the saw came with a case,that would put the deal unbeatable.Love the saw

Ordered it Thursday, arrived via FedEx the following Wednesday.  I followed the starting directions and she fired right up! I was cutting up a cherry tree within 20 min of the box arriving.  Strong saw.  Light weight and easy to use.  I have already recommended this saw from VMinnovations to two of my friends. 

Looks like new, added fuel and oil and it started right up. Ran over a tank of fuel through it and problems.

Bought this saw for my 60 year old mother to replace her ailing homelite.  This saw is easier for her to start and use.  Definatly more than adequate for her needs.  Easier for her to operate than the cheaper saws.  Starts easier and runs with less vibration.  Plus hopefully I won't have to work on it much.   

I bought this to clear some fallen tree's after a storm and it was put to use daily for 3 days and never failed to start or cut. Even the complicated becomes easy with this saw. Its light weight, well balanced and goes great through lots of different types of woods.

The only drawback is it didnt come with a sheath or any type of guard which costs $40 from the store. Online prices I could have bought a new saw for the same price with a sheath and it wouldnt have been refurbished.

As  follow-up to my initial posting: first, my price was actually two hundred less that I mentioned in the first review. Second, after about 20 minutes the chain stopped turning. Turns out that the sprocket/gear in the end of the bar had frozen up. Perhaps this bar's gear had never been lubricated from the factory (and perhaps why this unit was returned). Other reviewers have mentioned having purchased a new bar for their unit. I removed the bar, put it in a vice and used a thin screwdriver, spray lubricant and small hammer to get the gear turning so that it was somewhat free.  Put the unit back together and it has worked great ever since. I've put in over 10 hours of heavy cutting over the last few months with no additional problems and still very happy with the purchase.

Looks like new and works like new! I love this saw and the best part is that it is much cheaper than a new one. I have used this saw for going on 2 seasons now and it has performed flawlessly.

This is my 2nd Husky chainsaw. The first one was a Model 141 (~40cc engine) and it lasted 15 years. I was thinking about replacing my Husky 141 with an Echo or Stihl model.  However, after reading numerous reviews comparing Husky, Echo, and Stihl and looking at the value you get for the money I went with Husky again. I bought this chainsaw on "Cyber Monday" after Thanksgiving when VM Innovations was offering a 15% discount for Cyber Monday sales. The order was place on a Monday evening and it was sitting on my front porch three days later. The total delivered price was $196 which makes it a great value. Even though it is a factory reconditioned chainsaw it arrived "as new". That is, it has the appearance of begin new or nearly new.  It was clean (no sawdust nor oil nor dirt).  This chainsaw never saw wood. The chain and the bar were both new.

I put my 16" bar and chain from my old Husky 141 on it as I generally find for what I do 16" is perfect.

My old Husky 141 was labeled HUSQVARNA SWEDEN - MADE IN USA.  This chainsaw is marked as HUSQVARNA SWEDEN.  There is no indication as to where it was made. I would assume USA but maybe it was made in Sweden.

Out of the box it started after around 5 pulls. Subsequent starts it starts on the first pull. I have not cut wood with it yet so only time will tell how it holds up and how it compares to my old Husky 141. If I get 15 years out of it like I did from my first chainsaw then I will be pleased.

There are many reasons to like this chainsaw more than my old Husky 141. The following list includes improvements or new features that my old chainsaw did not have.

1. More power (45cc vs 40cc engine).

2. Decompression valve to make starting easier. That is, easier to pull the start cord.

3. Quick release snap lock cover. No screws need to be removed to get to the air filter or the spark plug.

4. Side mounted chain tensioner screw. Easier to locate the screw and make the adjustment.

5. Combined choke/stop control. You don't have to fiddle with a choke setting and shut off is easy without looking for a stop switch.

6. Transparent visible fuel level indicator. You can see how much fuel you have left without removing the fuel tank cap.

7. Air purge bulb to pump the fuel and purge air pockets.

8. Vibration dampening system.

Very good product started fast I didn't use it yet but looks OK.

Heat my house with firewood and my old saw was 15 years old so time for a new one. This saw was easy to set up started well. When I went to cut through a piece of locust, the first piece, the chain started smoking and wouldn't cut a quarter inch into the 3inch dia log. I wasn't happy. I went to Ace bought a Sthil blade and came back home and installed. I then proceeded to cut a cord and a half of locust in short order. I would have given this saw 5 stars if not for the faulty chain. I will stay clear of husqvarna chains from now on but love the saw.

This was a refurbished unit for three hundred 80 dollars after using additional coupon code. My unit looked practically brand new, with only a very minor scratch or 2 on the plastic cover. The chain looks new also, but the bar looks a bit older and was probably repainted. The unit was wrapped in a plastic sheet and the sheet had a layer of chain oil on the inside, but perhaps this is expected due to the fact that as a refurbished unit it would have been expected to have once been filled with chain oil, there would have been some residual left even after poured out, and with all the joistling in transit some of it would be expected to leak out through the port opening to the chain.  So all in all it is in great shape and traces of chain oil is not a concern.  I added gas and new chain oil and it started up within the first minute of trying. I haven't had a chance to cut with it but all indications are that it was a great purchase.

Bought this saw to replace my 20 year old Jonsered 2040.item was shipped at 1am the morning after the order and arrived in three days.  Great free shipping!  for a refurb it looked brand new, chain, bar and power head had no marks (except for the R stamp on the bottom).  put it together, added gas/oil and it fired up in 4 pulls.  really like the decompression feature and the primeing bulb. 

cut a rick of wood from trees already felled.  Like the weight/ballence/power.  I believe it will make an excellent firewood saw.

I was shocked when I opened the box. The saw looked literally brand new. The saw I recieved was clean, and I could not even find a scratch. It assembled in minutes, and fired as soon as the fuel hit the carberator. I used the saw for an entire day taking down 30 dead liquid amber and pine trees, and cutting them in to 18 inch chunks for splitting. An all around great saw. Highly recommended.

I ordered this saw on Sunday-Jan. 20...arrived on the 23rd...On the 26th I installed the bar and chain--added fuel and chain/bar oil---primed it 4-5 times...it started and ran perfect on the 4th pull. I read some of the negative reviews...but based on Husqvarnas reputation and a majority of good reviews I placed the order. I felt the instructions were good (there are good videos on Utube for those that don't understand how to release the chain brake before removing the side cover and installing the bar and chain) and don't forget to remve the plastic spacer behind the cover BEFORE installing the bar. This saw has many great features compression release-chain brake etc.... which my 25 year old smaller Poulan does not.... which to me makes it seem like a Cadillac.

It arrived at my home in a "Husqvarna Certified Factory Reconditioned" box with a new bar and chain...my first impression was this thing is brand new!! It's not new however---but pretty darn close. I'd recommend this saw to anyone I know in need of a great quality saw.  Kudos to VMInnovations for offering it at such a great price. As a side note their communications via email was also excellent!   Thanks again!!

Clearing a lot needed a dependable saw, this doing a great job!

After reading a few reviews I was worried about the shape<br />the refurbished saw would be in, would it have writing all over it, would the<br />plastic case be scratched up, or would the bar be wore. I set around all day<br />waiting for it to get here, I already knew it was a great saw because my<br />buddies have them and paid full retail price. Two of them were here with me<br />setting around waiting for fedex to get here; they want to see what it looked<br />like as well. A few more beers later and here it was, it come in a nice thick<br />husqvarna box. We all took turns inspecting it, friend 1 stomped his foot and<br />found a small scratch on the bar but after looking closer it was where they<br />hung the bar when it was painted. We all looked hard and couldn’t find any wear<br />marks or blemishes at all, there was a letter R engraved on the bottom of the<br />handle, guess that means Refurbished. We looked at the drive sprocket as well<br />and found no wear, the pull cord and chain were new, this saw looks new. We put<br />it together in like 5 minutes, oh one thing make sure you remove the white<br />plastic thing from under the chain cover, it did mess with one of the guys but<br />not me. Ok couldn’t wait any longer we drove 15mi. to the nearest lowes and<br />picked up husqvarna 2 cycle oil and bar oil. Drove to the cabin where there was<br />a large oak tree down from the ice storm. Filled the saw with 91 octane and bar<br />oil, temp outside was 34 degrees, set the choke ,the compression button, and<br />pumped the gas bulb a few times, pulled the cord 4 times and it started and<br />died, with the choke off and reset the compression button one crank and it<br />started and run good. That oak was 16’’ 17’’ thick at the base, cut it up in<br />one tank of gas the saw didn’t act up and would idle fine between cuts. I am<br />happy as a witch in a broom factory lol.

This was my first purchase from VMInnovations. Their service was as fast and professional as any online expereince I've had. They also had the lowest price I'd seen anywhere. I would definatly recommend the product and VMInnovations. The saw came just as it was advertised and I expected. This was a factory refurmed saw it was in like-new condition. Initial setup and unpackaging was simple. Delivery was very fast with several emails announcing different stages of the trasaction; shipped, delivered and a follow up email to make sure I was satisified with the sale. I'd have no hesitation to use them again if they have what I'm looking for.

This is a very nice saw. Like all Husky's it has good horsepower and chain speed. I spend a lot of time in the woods and purchased it as a smaller saw to compliment a 20" Stihl I have. From my expereince so far I can see it being my default saw for most jobs. The saw came with an 18" bar. I purchased a 16" bar and a couple chains from my local retailer. With the 16" mocro-lite bar it's a very handy all-around package to use and I've still got the 18" bar if I need it. I've burned several tanks of gas already and am very pleased with the saw. It's what I expected from Husqvarna. 

PROMPT-LOOKS LIKE NEW EVEN THOUGH A RECON

The first saw arrived in 3 days, but would not start.  VMI exchanged it with another one.  I had that saw three days later.  I've cut 1/2 cord of wood so far, and saw works great.  Easy to start, runs great, cuts like butter.  I'm very happy with the saw and VMI's customer service.

Pleasantly surprised.  Free shipping.  Arrived in 2 days.  Chainsaw looked like it had been used 1 day.  Great shape.  Put on new chain, filled with chainsaw blade oil and gas, followed the cold starting steps in the included manual and it started right up.  Cut logs, warm started it and put it away until the next storm.  Glad I went with a quality chainsaw and got it at a reduced price.

This is my first chain saw. I researched the product and some others and found a great deal on this reconditioned Husq 445 at VMInnovations. The recon unit came in very good condition with the only wear on the tool was on the bottom of the handle. This is from putting the unit on the ground to pull start it. I assembled the tool fairly easily, loaded it with the recommended chain oil and oil/gas mixture. Starting it the first time took several attempts, maybe a dozen tries. But after the first time it started, post starts fired right up. The saw has plenty of power to do everthing I put it through, cutting up to a 14" limbs effortlessly. I used it all day on it's first outing. No problems then or since. Generally, I'm very happy with my choice.

Saw has great cutting power, even though it was refurbished.  The instructiones that came with the saw are all poorly created pictures that do not do a good job of explaing how to install the bar & chain. I had to travel 30 minutes to a local dealer to have them show me to pull the chain lock off so I could remove the side plate and install the bar & chain.  I also called customer service to address this, but they were useless in helping me with the problem.

Once the saw was together, it worked like a charm.  Very pleased with its performance.

I think it is great for fire wood or triming trees

Saw started right up, cut down and cut up 24" dead maple. Worked as New and is a pleasure to use

Oil leaks, Gas leaks, Clutch had to be rebuilt.

Other than that a fine piece of equipment.

Husqvarna quality cannot be beat. The saw arrived quickly and as advertised. Many people complain about not being able to start this saw. The saw I purchased started after the 4th pull. They don't always start on the first pull, so I attribute other complaints to be user error. The saw worked just as I intended it to. Great purchase!!

This saw is the best I ever used. Everything about it is first class. Cuts thick freah wood like butter. No fooling around, just start it and get to work. Amazing tool. 5 stars.

I am a householder, so the saw is for ocasional use. I like the easy start features and the size of the saw. Just right for me.

I had a little Stihl chainsaw that I bought last year that just wouldn't get the job done. I looked around a lot for a new chainsaw and came across Husqvarna 445. I was in the process of saving up my money to purchase a brand new saw when I came across the refurbished ones here. I was kinda skeptical about buying a refurbished saw due to not knowing what condition it would be in. I finally decided to make the purchase. The saw arrived in about a week and I immediately put it together very easily, filled up the fluids, and started this saw up on the 4th pull. The saw cuts flawlessly and I am very happy. I use it around the house and also out on my hunting property.  I would definitely recommend this saw to someone that might need a new one or are just looking to upgrade, but aren't looking to spend a lot of cash.

The Husqvarna chainsaw was in excellent condition. It started up after a number of pull and ran like a champ. Dealing with VMInnovations was great. I received the saw almost immediately. Overall an excellent experience.

I was going to buy a brand new one at a local store when I saw this deal on a refurbished one.  There was a few very minor  scuffs on the case, but other than that, it's like brand new.

hello i purchased the 435 husqvarna saw and  it is awesome, great price, and i will buy another as a spare. i mixed the gas and folowed the instrcutions 15-20 pulls and she fired! i have since cut about a cord and she throws the chips and is very strong for a 16". i would recommend this to anyone, dont settle for less with a differetn brnd or cheaper price, this saw cuts the stuff. thank you

This chain saw handles great, cuts great, and starts easy. But the bar and chain oil leaks out when stored unless you store it on it's side. something you can live with but should not be.

This saw is great for the handy man that appreciates nice quality equipment without having to buy commercial equipment.  This saw is great for Medium use jobs, has plenty of power.  Would not recommend if was using this saw for a living, as there are saws designed for that.  This reconditioned saw was as new and cranks on 1-3 pull every time.  Highly recommend.

If I had to come up with one complaint it would be the chain.  It is a very low kick back design so does not cut a lot of "meat" with each rotation.  For saftey reasons, it is a decent chain however.

I purchased this saw for felling medium size trees on my property and for cutting up firewood. I am very pleased with the performance. This refurbished saw arrived in very clean condition and appeared new. I was able to purchase this refurbished saw for far less than what my neighbor paid for a downsized Husky from a local supplier. It makes my neighbor very jealous. I have used it for a total of about 3 hours of cutting with no issues so far. I am using Husqvarna 2 stroke and bar & chain oils.
