My husband and I purchased this heater to try to save on heating with oil. We have tried other space heaters but they add tremendously to our electricity bill. We did research and infrared is supposed to be much more economical. So far we are pleased. I like the three different settings. The one setting we use is the eco setting of course. The bathroom is not insulated and so now we don't have to sit on a cold toilet seat or freeze during getting in and out of the shower. We have not gotten our electric bill yet and that is why I have not given this product a 5 star rating. So far, so good. Oh and I was very pleased with how quickly the item was shipped to us. We received this item in less than a week.
We got this because our dog spends the night in the garage. Rather than light the pellet stove each day to warm it up this little heater keeps it confortable for her throughout the night and it hardly uses any electricity.
It heats my 24' RV almost too much, but the thermostat makes it fine.
The first heater I received was defective (thermostat did not work). I called the factory and they told me they would send me the part, and I could fix it myself. Ridiculous!
I called VM and they had no problem replacing it with a new one. Shame on the Manufacturer (seller!).
Thanks, VM, I will buy from you and recommend you to all my friends and family!!!
I have a small house so the sq coverage is just right. It's smaller than other infrared heaters so doesn't take as much space.
As Advertised, this is a Great, Efficient, & Green Unit. On the Eco Mode (500W) it keeps the Front 800 Sq Ft of our Condo Unit 74 Degrees Warm.
Works excellent. Shipped fast. All pro's, no con's.
Nice communication after purchase. Easy transaction. Hoping for a new coupon so I can buy another plus I need an exectric chainsaw. Good company overall to deal with.
I've been using just a wall heater to heat up my small business. I usually have to set it to turn on several hours in advance. Now that I have this heater I set it on economy when I'm planning on being away for several hours and when I arrive I turn it to high and it saves the number of hours it usually takes using the wall unit heater to heat my small business. Plus my wall unit is too noisy so after I heat up the room with the both of them I'll turn the wall unity off and with the new heater it stays nice and warm.
I purchased the Lifesmart Infrared Heater because I have a drafty apartment with really high ceilings, and my window heat pump is extremely inefficient as it just sends hot air up towards the ceiling. It’s definitely a great buy, just note the following:
Pros:
Lots of functions (timer, 3 heat modes (high-low-eco at 1.5KW, 1KW, .5KW output levels), tipover sensor)
Cool-touch exterior
Infrared design means near instant heat—you’ll be feeling warm in one minute

Cons:
Output is slightly limited in terms of angle of output—think like a flat cone of heat, as opposed to a radiant heat source. Output has sufficient vertical coverage—this is good because your whole body gets warm if you’re sitting a bit from the heater, but it does heat up the floor in front of it a bit. I would definitely recommend elevating this heater up off the ground on a stable heat-proof rack, even if just a foot or two.
Other notes:
Fan noise is slight—not as bad as my air purifier, but you should know that this has fans blowing hot air, as opposed to a silent oil-filled radiator.
Also note that this heater’s remote might share infrared codes with other devices. For example, the temperature control changes the inputs on my home theater A/V receiver.
I used this item to heat a televsion room with no door, or a bedroom. I liked the small size. Even though it was small, it heated the room well. It specifies that it covers 800 sqare feet. It was a little difficult to turn on. There is a back power button to turn on. Then, there is a front power button to turn on. Sometimes, the front power button had to be held down for a few seconds to turn on. The heater doesn't seem to turn off when the front power button is pushed again. I had to turn of the back button. The temperature button goes to a low of 59 degrees farenheit, so it can potentially cool a room, too. The highest temperature appears to be 86 degrees, which may not be warm enough. I have an old house with radiators, and the heat wasn't working well this winter, so it was very helpful in the small room, even with no door to keep in the heat. The heater came with a remote, and I don't know where it is right now. It would help to have some velcro on the machine and remote to attach them, so the remote doesn't get separated and lost. Or a holder on the side for the remote would be helpful. I liked that it has grooves on the sides to lift it and transport it. i would like a better way to keep the cord contained and neat on the machine when not in use. It might be nicer if it oscillated to spread the heat throughout the room. I like the safety feature which turns off the machine if it gets overheated.
Does what it was intended for!
