Black & Decker 12-Inch Electric Trimmer/Edger (Refurbished) | NST2118

My mom recently bought this weed trimmer from VMInnovations for me to use on our lawns. I was a little skeptical,but after receiving it which came faster than I expected and in great condition I was sold on buying products from VMInnovations. Like I said it came faster than I was expecting and faster than other things we purchase online comes. It was also packaged very good. Upon taking it out of its package it was very clear as to what was needed to be done in order to get it working. I charged it for the said time and was blown away at how well it actually worked on trimming around our home. I always use to use gas weedeaters and always thought electric ones didn't work as good or have the power that a electric one does,but this electric one exceeded my expectations. Trimming my moms lawn and mine it stayed charged in enough time to do them and still had power to do more had I needed to. We also have some vine like plant that grows on our fence line and even hangs over our fence and with this weed trimmer I was able to get all the vines that hung over and that wasn't laying to close to the fence. During getting those thick vines the trimmer kept it's power and cut right through them just like it was trimming the grass. I figured it being electric it would loose at least a little bit of power,but as long I didn't imerge the trimmer head down into the vines and kept it ontop skimming over the vines and working my way down to the bottom of them it kept going right on without issue. For the power and quality of this trimmer I think my mom purchased it at a great prices and is cheaper than I had seen anywhere.

In my book, if it's Black and Decker, it's a toy for children, not a tool for a man. This one in particular is a scam to get you to buy pre-filled spools of line at $8 each (it runs out about every 3 uses).   If you fill it yourself, the mechanism to advance the line doesn't work and you will go through 200 ft in one use. Worthless garbage...

Very quick and easy set-up.  I was skeptical about an electric weed eater but it really does a nice job.  I have chain link fence that runs aournd my whole property and it goes right thruough that with no problems.  I am 100 percent happy with this product.  I cuts thought grass and weeds with ease.

I have another product that uses the same battery, and have enjoyed the product. This trimmer is even better than I expected, lightweight and easy to use. Convenient that it uses the same battery.

I just received this item last night. When I attempted to test it for the first time, the cheap, plastic collar on the handle assembly cracked and split immediately rendering the entire product useless. Now I am working on getting a replacement and hoping for the best.

SO glad to have this although I can't tell if it is because my old one was corded and I had to drag out my Huge Heavy extension cord!  The battery life on this isn't great but I have 2 batteries and always have one charged so that isn't an issue for me.  It is a little bit heavy and I wish the design had an "arm-rest" like my old one but it works fabulous, is sturdy and I really like the pivoting head.  Happy with this purchase!

I have one myself, and am buying one for a relative. The battery holds a good charge and it's light and easy to move around. Battery packs work with my cordless impact drill too! Going cordless is the way to be, quiet, safe and convenient.

At the price, I bought it for the two batteries, but find myself using it for little jobs and "touch up" around the house and yard when firing up the gas trimmer seems like too much hasssle for such small jobs.  LIght weight and very handy and has a longer runtime per battery than expected

Excellent to use and light weight. I have 3 acres Iuse the weed eater and it does the job.

I use this string trimmer for the edges around my house and shed, and it does a pretty good job.  It does have a tendency to bog down with anything more than edge maintenance, though.  It comes with two batteries, andd one was enough for me to get through what I needed to.

Got this to do edging along my sidewalks, curb, and patio. Also for whacking down some overgrown grass along my fences. Works great! Extremely simple to assemble and use. Quiet enough it can easily be talked over. Enough juice to get the job done, though you'll need to switch to the second battery for all but the smallest jobs. For infrequent edging maintenance, it's entirely sufficient. Not for people with very large yards, unless you want an 18-hour break while both batteries recharge.

I have a large 1/3 acre lot, and with this trimmer was able to get all the way around the yard. In the past it took me two trimmers to accomplish the same task. It did go through string fairly quickly, but it did a great job, and the batteries lasted much longer than my previous trimmer's batteries. It is great not to have a cord attached or have to buy gas for the trimmer.

It's great that it is electric.  Lots of torque without the noise.  I use it for edging and cleaning up the missed mower patches.  Great that it come with two batteries and charger.  Don't like that it is rather chunky and feel plasticky.

I put this trimmer together, clipped in the battery, and pulled the trigger.  Within one minute, it was broken.  The trimmer line all came unspooled as a piece inside broke.  Poor quality.

This is my second B&D cordless trimmer.  It does the job just fine as long as there is enough juice in the battery.  I bought this re-conditioned one mainly for the extra batteries and charger.

I've owned this model for several years.  I have over an acre of land and lots of places to trim.  I found that the gas models are just too heavy to carry around for a long length of time.  This model is light weight and easy to handle.  The battery only lasts about 10 minutes before the cutter slows to a point where it no longer cuts.  But they do give you two batteries with the unit.

 I'd rather use this model over the gas model for 95% of what I cut.

  The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the battery issue.
