This Huskvarna 240 chain saw is an overall good product. It seems to be well built and strudy. I purchased a refurbished unit and unfortunately the oiler does not work and I can not use the saw. I have taken it to a Huskvarna Service Center and it has been there a week and a half so far. Disappointed that even though it has a 90 day warranty, something as important as a oiler on a chain saw should not be faulty on a new or refurbished saw. I have now used up over two weeks of my new saw in the shop. Not exactly how I planned my fall tree cutting. I am now way behind and sorry I purchased this refurbished saw. Live and learn. I just hope I get it back before the 90 day warranty is up.
Have never bought refurbished item. Was greatly surprised to see my saw was basically brand new. Followed instructions for starting and she cranked right up and purred. I had two Poulans that just crapped out on me. You can't beat the price!!! This is my 2nd Husky and I love both of them.
Very quick delivery, saw needed some adjusting due to the altitude I am at (7500 feet) but other than that runs great!
I am very pleased with this purchase!! The chain saw started quickly and worked like a champ! I'm not a logger just your regular joe clearing up the yard and this product is perfect. I would recomemend this to who ever needs a good all around chain saw minor or major cutting.
Should of stuck with the brand I had before. This saw while sturdy, is hard to start. To many things to remember to do before starting. Instructions were small and hard to read and did not explain aboiut resetting the spring in order to put the case back on after putting the chain on. Found that out via Youtube.com It is also a bit akward to hold.
to start with, it took me an hour to attach the bar and chain. need to send instructions nd be sure to list what position the chain lock should be in when putting together. other than that it works great and will do all that i need it to.
A bit heavier than the 435, which has more power. Works well with a smaller bar. Sometimes difficult to start when hot, but generally quick start.
Arrived quickly, wouldn't start. This was actually expected. I live in Albuquerque, and the elevation is 5500 ft. A trip to a local authorized dealer for an altitude ajustment + $20, and the saw starts easily. quality is high. When considering this, I spent $177 for the saw, $20 for the adjustment (you may not need this, or you may absolutely need this), and $45 for a factory case. Positive experience, I will do this again for a trimmer. This is a high quality saw for medium duty, pre-season stocking up for the winter.
I bought this to use around the house. Looks good out of the box. The manual that comes with it is a photocopy and is hard to read. Put the saw together and added the oil and gas to it, and the bar oil leaks out from around the sprocket. Has not touched a piece of wood yet, so I am somewhat frustrated with this purchase. I am having to go through the hassle of seeing if the warranty is any good.
I bought this saw through Ebay and received it in less than a week. A bit of clarification on how to reset the chain brake before pulling it apart to install the bar would have been a great help. I too had to go to YouTube to find out how to put it back together. My biggest problem came when I tried to start it. After some troubleshooting with a meter I found that the coil was shorted to ground. If I don't have any problems in getting this resolved I may consider buying another refurb.
Arrived in Husqvarna recon box in plastic bag. Very clean no oil or dirt on saw. Starts on third or fourth pull when cold and on first pull after warmed up. The only issue that I had was the operation manual was for a different model saw.
